Import Bingers Into Refract: Episodes, Movies, Ratings, Lists

Bingers, the app launched by a TV Time co-founder after the shutdown, exports your data as a ZIP from its settings. Refract imports it in full: episode and movie watches with their dates, watching and stopped statuses, ratings converted from 1 to 5 stars to 1 to 10, rewatches, favorites and your lists. Trying Bingers first is not a one-way door.

Step 1: get your Bingers export

You will end up with: bingers-export-….zip.

  1. Open Bingers and go to Settings → Export data.
  2. Start the export and wait for the file to be prepared.
  3. Save the ZIP to the phone where Refract is installed.

Step 2: import it into Refract

  1. Install Refract on iOS or Android (links at the bottom of this page) and sign in.
  2. Open Settings → Import → Bingers and pick the file.
  3. Review the preview: it shows what the file contains, category by category, and lets you untick anything you do not want.
  4. Start the import. It runs in the background with a progress bar; you can leave the app.
  5. Read the completion summary. Check the completion screen for the import's undo option and its scope.

Frequently asked questions

I moved from TV Time to Bingers and now to Refract. Do I need my old TV Time file?

No. If your TV Time history was imported into Bingers, the Bingers export carries it, and this guide is all you need. If you still have the TV Time export, importing it too only adds what is missing.

Will the import overwrite what I already have in Refract?

Imports merge data into your library. Review the source-specific preview and completion summary to see what is included.

Is importing free?

Yes. Imports, like the rest of the tracker, are free with no ads and no paywall. Refract Pro is optional cosmetic supporter tiers only.

Can I undo this import?

Check the completion screen for the import's undo option and its scope.
