Everything you watch.
The cross-media tracker for people who take their stories seriously.
Movies, TV, anime — with books & games coming soon.
Free, forever. No ads. No paywall.
THE DIFFERENTIATOR
Stop juggling between trackers.
TV Time for shows. Letterboxd for movies. AniList for anime. Goodreads for books. Backloggd for games.
Refract for all of it.
One status row. Three words. Adaptive by design.
FEATURES
Everything a tracker should be.
SHAPED BY YOU
Built in public.
Steered by the people using it.
Every feature on Refract started as a Discord thread. The roadmap is voted on, bugs get fixed in days, and the founder shows up daily. No marketing — just the work.
See the public roadmap, vote on what's next, report bugs directly to the founder.
FOR THE OBSESSIVE
Tracking that earns itself.
Achievements unlock as you watch. Flair celebrates how you watch. And somewhere in there, a category nobody talks about.
VS. THE REST
Why people switch.
Refract doesn't replace one tracker. It replaces all of them.

QUESTIONS
Frequently asked.
Short answers to the things people ask us most.
Is Refract really free?
Yes — free forever. No ads, no paywalls, no manipulation. Refract is built by a tiny team that refuses to put your attention up for sale. If we ever add paid features, the core tracker stays free.
How is Refract different from Letterboxd or Trakt?
Letterboxd is movies-only. Trakt limits free users to 100 items and has barely shipped in years. TV Time shows ads and is rotting. Refract unifies movies, TV and anime in one place — free, no ads, no caps — and ships in public every week.
Will Refract support books and games?
Yes. Books and games are on the roadmap and will land natively in Refract, sharing the same library, stats, lists and AI recommendations as your movies, TV and anime.
Can I import my data from another tracker?
Yes. Refract imports from Letterboxd, TV Time, IMDb and Trakt (ZIP backup), preserving ratings, watch dates and watchlist. Each import shows live progress, a completion summary and a one-tap undo if something looks off.
Who owns my data?
You do. You can export your full library at any time and delete your account in two taps. We don't sell your data to anyone. Analytics are opt-in and aggregated only.
Who is behind Refract?
Refract is built by Florent and Jeremy — two obsessive media nerds making the cross-media tracker they always wanted. We ship in public on Discord with a community that shapes the roadmap week by week.
I found a bug or want to request a feature. How do I report it?
Email support@getrefract.app for bugs (include device, OS version and steps to reproduce). For feature ideas, the public roadmap lives on our Discord — that's where the community votes on what we build next.
Is Refract a replacement for TV Time?
Yes. Refract tracks every episode you watch, surfaces what's airing next, and handles anime properly — without the ads, the dark patterns or the years of neglect. A one-tap TV Time import brings your full history over.
Is Refract a replacement for Letterboxd?
For most people, yes. Refract logs movies with ratings, dates, notes, lists and a diary — plus everything Letterboxd can't track: TV, anime, and soon books and games. Letterboxd's social film community is still richer; Refract's edge is having one library for everything you watch.
Does Refract handle anime properly?
Yes. Refract uses a cross-database matching engine (TMDB + AniList + MAL) to give anime the metadata it actually deserves — correct seasons, episode counts, OVAs and movies — instead of the partial, broken anime support you'll find in TV Time or Trakt.
Does Refract sync across devices?
Yes. Sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook on iOS or Android and your full library, lists, ratings and progress sync instantly across every device you use.
Do I need an account? Can I share my profile?
An account is required to sync and back up your library. Profiles are private by default — make yours public to share your library, lists, diary and activity with friends, or keep everything private. You're in control.
